Unit 3- Relaxation Exercise
Tonight I completed the relaxation exercise. I liked this one better than last weeks and I was definitely able to relax and clear my mind. I didn't do so well with the actual visualizations though. I did start out listening intently and concentrating on each part of the body he mentioned and trying to see the color. However, I think I went completely blank after the third one and didn't really start hearing him again until the last one. I had to do the exercise again to be able hearing all six colors and the 2nd time wasn't as relaxing because I was trying so hard to stay with each color. I definitely need to spend some time with these relaxation exercises. I've no idea where my mind goes during them but it is like I am totally gone. Is anyone else having this problem?

I liked this one better than last week as well, but I do have trouble relaxing as well when I am trying to concentrate on what someone is saying. It is taking some practice.
ReplyDeleteI liked this one better too, but still have trouble relaxing. I am always up and going and trying to do too many things at once. I need to learn to relax more and just take things as they come instead of trying to accomplish everything at once.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds to me like maybe you were relaxed. I would think that if you are trying to concentrate that hard then you are probably defeating the purpose. At the begining of the exercise when I did the deep breathing it felt like I was holding my breath but, as I relaxed it became easier for me and by the end of the exercise I was totally relaxed.
ReplyDeleteHi Cherie,
ReplyDeleteSometimes when I have a ton on my mind, I also find it difficult to focus, but the key is that you are still willing to try to get the benefit of the activity.
Well said!

Hi Cherie,
ReplyDeleteThe first time I started meditations, I fall asleep all the time. The problem was I always did it when I was totally exhausted from the day. I find myself having a better response mediating in the morning because I am well rested. Now, I have learned how to stay focused during my mediations and find myself sleeping and feeling better when I wakeup in the morning. It will get better.
